Biographical or historical data

Peter Belsito grew up in New York City and obtained a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, and graduated from the Masters Film program at UCLA in the late 1960s. He was a founding member of Newsreel, a radical activist filmmaking collective. Belsito worked professionally as a cinematographer, producer, and writer after graduating from UCLA. He worked in publishing for 10 years. In 1995 he became Head of Sales and Marketing for the publishing and consulting company Film Finders, which he had earlier helped establish. For the last 15 years Belsito has been involved with developing young filmmakers via countless festivals and market panels all over the world. Peter Belsito currently lives in West Hollywood, California and travels extensively throughout the year to film festivals worldwide.
