• The book is printed with the Greek w and e for the open o and e, as advocated by Trissino; he felt that the orthographical innovations he was proposing--introduction of the letter k and use of Greek epsilon, omega, and zeta to represent certain sounds--merited a new typeface, and turned to Ludovico degli Arrighi for help in designing a new typeface based on the "cancelleresca" script
