Ownership inscription on inside rear cover of Andrew Fletcher of Saltoun, Scottish writer and politician, and owner of one of the richest private libraries; illustrated bookplate on inside front cover of Torinese industrialist Livio Ambrogio, featuring an apple tree, a serpent entwined around its trunk, printed in green and red on blue, with yellow border; Ambrogio's initials "L" and "A" on either side of tree, with his motto in Greek on three sides.
