Note
  • Signatures: A8 *2 **2 B-N8
  • Engravings: engraved architectural title page featuring a grapevine arch supported by columns and figures of the four Evangelists and their symbols; one three-quarters oval medallion engraved portrait of Pezzi (second state, with his age given as LXVIIII [69]) on page [8]; text illustrated with one double-page engraving of the Lord's vineyard (earliest state), with caption "Vinea Domini, seu descriptio omniu[m] sacramento[rum];" and thirteen additional engraved scenes depicting souls in Purgatory, Limbo, Inferno, and Paradise, and the sacraments (baptism, confirmation, communion, matrimony, ordination, extreme unction, and penance and reconciliation); title page and engravings are by Porro; see Mortimer
  • Woodcuts: Porro's device at end of first part, featuring an eagle shedding feathers and motto "Novata iuventus;" head-pieces; ornamental initials
  • Text printed in large roman type; marginal references printed in small italic type
  • Production of the present edition seems to have proceeded idiosyncratically, as the engravings are recorded in several states, and the Crucifixion scene, pasted on the final verso of the first part, is known in only some copies (for example, British Museum and UCLA copies). Mortimer does not mention the inner marginal notes which appear in some copies, but does note another 1588 edition in which Porro's imprint on title page has been erased and replaced by one for heirs of Francesco Ziletti
