Eighteenth-century tan calf; triple gilt fillets; gilt floral ornaments in spine panels; gold-stamped spine title "Valeri. Maximi. Opera. Venetiis. Aldus"; edges stained red; inner gilt dentelles; marbled endpapers. Contemporary ms. entries on t.p., and ms. running-titles. In modern beige cloth clamshell box, with dark brown leather spine; gold-stamped title "Valerius. Valerii Maximi Dictorum" with date "1503" at base of spine.
