  • In 1486, Bonini issued a Tibullus (Feb. 18), a Propertius (Mar. 16), and a Catullus (May 11), the three forming a sort of trilogy. They were probably intended for students of Latin style; see P. F. Grendler, Schooling in Renaissance Italy: literacy and learning, 1300-1600 (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Univ. Press, 1989), in which Grendler discusses at length the uses and audiences for classical texts surrounded by commentary
