Summary expansion
This is the only edition of the anti-reformist history of the lives of three of the Fathers of the Early Church" by the Istrian polemicist Girolamo Muzio. In his dedication to Vittoria Farnese, duchess of Urbino, Muzio draws parallels between the anti-heretical struggles of Saints Basil, Cyprian, and Irenaeus, and those of the present day, referring to his work as "una operetta accommodata alla conditione di questi tempi" and the Church's battle against "varie sette di heretici."
