  • D.E. Jablonski (see Darlow & Moule 5138) states on the authority of Leusden himself that Athias after printing four or five sheets of this volume determined to raise the number of copies from 4,500 to 5,000 and so had to reprint the early sheets. These few reprinted sheets did not receive Leusden's correction and the differ slightly from the first impression; differences are detectable in the Hebrew at Genesis VIII, 18 and in the Latin marginalia

Picturesque;" marbled endpapers and fore-edges. Ownership inscription of Edmund Andrews, M.D. on front free endpaper, stating that the book was a gift to him from his father, Elisha D. Andrews, "minister of the [Congregational] church in Putney, Vt. for 20 years, ending about 1829."
