- Summary
- The story involves spiritual seeking and embraces the teachings and precepts of many of the world's religions, not to mention travel throughout the known universe. Twenty-seven characters are introduced (p. xi) by names, roles and homes of origin (including earth, other planets and stars), in the order of their appearance in the story. At the end of this list of characters is a note (p. xii) further explaining the nature of the story: "Each of the following Spiritual Beings delivers a Divine Sermon before the students of the stars in the Universal University: Brahma, Buddah, Zoroaster, Confucius, Lao-tzu, Moses, Christ, Mohammad". The story ends with a paean to the Bahai religion for its openness to all faiths. A note after the story reads: "The Message of the Spirit of the Worlds' Teacher entitled 'The Sermon of Wisdom', embodied in Chapter XXVIII, Pages 388-394, concluding with the Golden Rule of the New Day, is, with the exception of a few connecting words, from the Writings of Baha-U-Llah and Abdul Baha"
