  • A reprint of Caxton's 1481 translation of the Dutch prose rendering of Reinaert's historie, a 14th century recension and continuation of Reinaert de Vos (1479); see Peterson.
  • Imprint from colophon, which reads in full: "Here ends the History of Reynard the Foxe, done into English out of Dutch by me William Morris, at the Kelmscott Press, Upper Mall, Hammersmith in the County of Middlesex. This book was corrected for the press by Henry Halliday Sparling, and finished on the 15th day of December, 1892. Sold by Bernard Quaritch, 15, Piccadilly, London."
  • First page of text (page 1) and facing page have exuberant wide white vine ornamental borders; large (8-line) white vine initials throughout text
  • Text printed in black and red
  • Printed in a limited edition of 300 copies printed on paper, and five copies on vellum; see Peterson
  • Issued bound in limp vellum; fore-edges turned in; three pair of olive green flat cotton ties; gold-stamped spine title "Reynard the Foxe."
