Each vol., except for 16, 23 and 24, has a photographic print (usually a port. of Moore) mounted as a frontispiece. Publisher's prospectus ([4] p.) for the series, projecting completion in 21 vols., laid in v. 1. A note tipped in v. 20 indicates that the projected 21 vol. set was now complete in 20 vols., but that any further writings. by Moore would be added to the set.
