Note
  • Possibly printed by Gabriel Giolito de' Ferrari, who printed Troiano's Lettera consolatoria in Venice in 1569. The Stanze alla gloriosa Vergine has the same typographic and format styling that Bongi notes in the Lettera consolatoria, which was printed in crisp large round italic, with ornate borders at the top of the page, and printed on large paper with wide margins. All of these stylistic details suggest that this was a book printed for a special occasion, with special typographic flair, probably for distributing as a gift.
  • Signatures: A-C4
  • "All'illustrissimo Sig.
  • Woodcuts: border of type-ornaments at head of title and first page of text; arms of the dedicatee, Giovanni Cheveniler on title-page, featuring a lion rampant beneath a crown, within an elaborate scrolled cartouche; foliated initial
  • Poems arranged in 8-line stanzas, printed in large italic type
