Sander (4296) attributes this edition to Besicken, based on the title woodcut which bears the "b" of Besicken and Martinus de Amsterdam's device on the woodcut border. Most recently, Cambridge University scholar Laura Nuvolini, while acknowledging the attribution of the woodcut, follows, tentatively, the attribution to Silber ca. 1500, based on the type which she finds to be different from Besicken's known types, and, agreeing with the Gesamtkatalog (GW 17557), closest to a type used by Silber (86G)

- The Translatio, like the Mirabilia urbis Romae, was a guide for pilgrims, printed in numerous undated editions. From at least the 14th century, popular legend held that a modest house in the territory of Recanati was in fact the house of the Virgin Mary which had been miraculously transported by angels from Nazareth, first to Dalmatia, then to Italy. To the faithful, this was the house in which the Annunciation had taken place, and in which the Christ Child had taken his first steps, and it quickly became a shrine and object of veneration. According to R.W. Lightbown in his Carlo Crivelli (Yale Univ. Press, 2004), the present relation of Loreto's miraculous translations composed ca. 1472 by the governor of the shrine Pietro Teramano (Pietro di Giorgio Tolomei of Teramo) first publicized the legend of the Holy House and made it famous for Catholics throughout Europe. Teramano also identifies two witnesses of the miraculous "translatio," Paolo di Rinalduccio (d. ca. 1448), and Francesco del Priore
