Summary
"Books are designed to ensure readability and as a consequence various typographic conventions have developed....The challenge for the typography class at Scripps was to break at least one of the rules we formulated but to do it in such a manner that the copy is not compromised; that is to write or find textual material that might actually require the breaking of rules for enhanced meaning"--Preface
