This is the only publication in which Estienne used his entire repertoire of decorative head-pieces; see Schreiber

Summary expansion
Estienne collated earlier printed editions--the 1513 Aldine, the 1534 and 1556 Basel editions, and for the Laws, the 1531 Louvain edition--as well as manuscripts to produce the Greek text. He replaced the old Ficino translation with a newly commissioned one by Jean de Serres, which he then went on to correct and revise himself

Eighteenth-century [?] polished tan calf boards; double gilt fillets; large gilt centerpiece is a cardinal's coat of arms, featuring the galero or cardinal's hat, cords, ten tassles on each side, crown, mitre, crosier, and snake within a central circular cartouche [possibly arms of Cardinal Antonio Eugenio Visconti? (1713-1788)] ; all edges gilt; gilt star ornaments in spine panels; gold-stamped spine title "Platonis Graeco Latini. Tom III." Presented in memory of Jeannette Hagen, 1989.
