In 1926, the family travels through Nevada to Utah, photographing the Mormon Temple and the state house in Salt Lake City, and nearby Saltair resort. They make their way through Colorado (Salida, Rolapp, Colton, Melrose, and Pueblo) to Kansas, where they visit friends in Lawrence, Priestly, Wichita, and Kansas City. In Missouri, the travelers visit relatives, the old homes of various family members, and photograph "our old well" in Webb City. There are several photographs of the travelers in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. In Louisiana they visit family, eat frogs for dinner, and drive along the levee in Anchor and New Roads, take the ferry to Baton Rouge, see New Orleans, Metairie Cemetery, Lake Ponchartrain, the Mississippi and Atchafalay Rivers, Algiers, Hanna, and Port Allen. The travelers head back to California through Texas; New Mexico; and Bisbee, Tombstone, Yuma, and the Gillespie Dam in Arizona, A 1926 trip to the Pacific Northwest included stops in Oregon at the Rogue River, Coos Bay, Rhododendron Park, Ten Mile Lake, Port Orford, and Cascade Locks; as well as stops in Washington State in Bremerton, Seattle, and Bellingham. In British Columbia, the travelers visited Vancouver, where they saw Stanley Park, and Native American totem poles; Westminster; and Surrey, where the Peace Arch is located on the U.S.-Canadian border. A 1928 trip took them once again to Yosemite and Oregon. Twenty photographs at the end are stock photos by the Western Photo Supply Co. of waterfalls, mountains, scenic highways, tunnels, bridges, and rivers in Oregon
