Signed binding by Riviere & Son of late 19th-century olive tree morocco; gilt ruled borders; inner gilt dentelles; elaborate gilt spine panels; gold-stamped spine title with erroneous date: "Palmerin de Oliva. Venetia 1626." Gold-stamped leather bookplates on front pastedown of Silvain S. Brunschwig, featuring fronds of acanthus leaves and monogram "SSB;" and merchant-banker and bibliophile Henry Huth, and his son Alfred H. Huth ("Ex Musaeo Huthii") featuring an open book bearing their motto "Animus non res." Purchase, Bernard Quaritch, 1992; from the Christie's South Kensington Sale, 16 December 1991, lot 69.
