De arte amandi;" blue marbled doublures; inner gilt dentelles; all edges gilt. Large engraved bookplate on front endleaf of Giuseppe Martini, bibliophile, collector, bookseller, who formed over thirty years a collection that was considered in the mid-1940s to be the richest private collection of Italian literature; gold-stamped black leather bookplate on front doublure of Robert Hoe, his gilt monogram "RH" at the foot. Purchase, Hesketh & Ward, 1999, with funds from the J. Paul Getty Trust Endowment for Pre-17th-Century European Books and Manuscripts.
