Jonathan Lewis was legislative assistant to state Senator Nicholas Petris, 1971-1977; executive director of the California Tax Reform Association, 1978-1979. In 1980, he opened his own governmental consulting firm, JLA Advocates, Inc., and continues to be associated with state budget and tax equity issues.
