- Dorothy D. Corey, a market researcher and head of Facts Consolidated, has conducted polls for political candidates and ballot measures. James C. Sheppard, a prominent Los Angeles attorney, introduced her to many leading political figures, including Governors Goodwin J. Knight and Edmund G. Brown, Sr. She has done extensive political opinion polling for the consulting firms of Baus and Ross Campaigns and of Braun and Company. Richard Nixon contracted with Mrs. Corey's firm for his unsuccessful campaign for governor in 1962 and his presidential primary contests in California. During these campaigns she became well acquainted with Nixon's inner circle of advisers. She has also done polling research for Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr.
