Note
  • Inspired by Nova reperta by Johannes Stradanus, published in 1638, which describes many navigational and technological discoveries. Nine illustrations from that work are reproduced, and include the invention of eyeglasses, the windmill, the astrolabe, the magnet, and the discovery of America. Drucker describes the modern-day innovations of power transmission, transportation, communication, and their effects of society, in photographs and text
  • Originally conceived as part of Science and the artist's book, an exhibition by the Smithsonian Institution Libraries and Washington Project for the Arts, for which book artists created books based on classic volumes from the Heralds of Science collection of the Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology
  • "The edition consists of 75 copies ... all copies signed by the artists"--Colophon
