Bound in full pebble-grain brown morocco; gilt French fillets, and ornamental gilt corner-pieces; gold-stamped centerpiece is crest of the Spanish bibliophile, Joachim Gomez de la Cortina, marqués de Morante, with caption "J. Gomez de la Cortina et amicorum", and his motto "Fallitur hora legendo"; elaborate inner gilt dentelles; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers. Front pastedown contains Gomez de la Cortina's crest gold-stamped on green leather, and small upright dog bookplate of Rome antiquarian bookseller, Giovanni Puccinelli Sannini.
