  • Thirty seven large initials illuminated in colors, the first with flowered border in inner margin. Several of the large initials are illustrative. Other initials and paragraph marks supplied in alternate red and blue (with some green). Initial strokes and captions supplied in red.
  • Leaf [356] remargined; leaf [221] torn and remargined in lower right corner. Several leaves slightly torn and mended. Stains, particularly at beginning and end. Slightly wormed in inner margins.
  • Spec. Coll. copy: bound in old calf. Some manuscript notations and underlining. Armorial bookplate of the "Earl of Roden, K[nigh]t [of] St. P[atrick].," probably Robert Jocelyn, 2rd Earl of Roden to whom the library passed upon the death in 1798 of former owner James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Clanbrassill; see A.W. Franks, Catalogue of British and American book plates, no. 16503; and University of Toronto Libraries, British Armorial Bindings online.
