Coll. copy: bound in contemporary Italian brown goatskin over thin wooden boards; spine reinforced with a leaf of vellum manuscript waste, with text in small Latin script and manuscript capitals added in red and blue; concentric panels formed by alternating blind-tooled borders of rules, strapwork, and rolls (featuring the papal umbraculum); stubs of two pairs of metal and leather clasps and catches along fore-edges; blind-tooled diapared pattern on spine; manuscript titles on fore-edges and lower edges. Early ownership inscription on title page; manuscript note on verso of rear endleaf in a contemporary hand; note in Spanish dated 1640 on verso of title page. In modern brown leather and beige linen clamshell case, with gold-stamped spine title "Gregory I. Moralia." Purchased for UCLA Library by A. Sokol Books at the Christie's London sale of the L.H.P. Klotz collection of incunabula, German illustrated books and atlases, Nov. 2, 1994.
