  • First ten leaves contain a calendar of moveable feasts, and a calendar, arranged by month, of saints days and other important feasts commemorating events in the lives of Christ and the Virgin. Calendar also includes the Dominical Letters (for computing Sundays), Golden Numbers (for identifying new moons, and computing full moons), and designation of each day according to the ancient Roman calendrical system
  • Liturgical music arranged on red four-line staves, with square notation in black, and Latin words
  • Printed in bold gothic type, in two columns, in red and black
  • Woodcuts: title vignette of St. Benedict standing atop a pedestal captioned "Congregatio Casinensis", and flanked by St. Placido and St. Mauro; printer's device on t.p. (the Giunta fleur-de lis in red, with initials "L.A."); lavishly illustrated with a full-page Crucifixion (leaf 106v); 19 large woodcuts (113 x 91 mm.) depicting scenes from the Bible and the lives of Christ and the saints; 20 large historiated initial letters (115 x 93 mm.); and more than 400 additional ornamental initials, decorated marginal extenders, and smaller illustrations. Sixteen pages have large elaborate architectural borders, decorated with portraits of the Evangelists, scenes from the Bible, religious figures, flowers, vines, birds, animals, and grotesque heads.
