Coll. copy: bound in crushed brown morocco with triple gilt fillets, and gilt Aldine device centerpieces on upper and lower boards, featuring his dolphin and anchor; gilt-ruled brown morocco doublures; all gilt edges; bound by Antoine Chatelin, French master binder from Berrichonne de Chateauroux, France, who worked in London during the mid-19th-century, whose name "Chatelin" is stamped on upper left corner of verso of front free endpaper. Ms. additions in an unidentified hand on leaves [1]v-[2]v (leaves 2g5-2g6) at end, and first two rear endpapers. Early ownership inscriptions on leaves 2r and 136v of Filippo Pozzo and friends, in Latin and Italian, respectively; engraved circular armorial bookplate on front pastedown of Sir Edward Sullivan, with his motto "Tot praemia vita;" ms. note in pencil above: "Ex libris Isaac Foot, 1880-1960;" ownership inscription on recto of front free endpaper of John Burns, dated Sept. 26, 1922. In modern light brown cloth phase box; dark brown leather and marbled paper slipcase; gold-stamped case title "Lucianus. Opuscula Erasmo. 1516." Purchase, Zeitlin & Ver Brugge.
