Publication
Note
  • First published in 1515. Written by Girolamo Tagliente, assisted by his relative Giovanni Antonio Tagliente, and not, as some have thought, by Giovanni Rocha, who merely corrected some of the editions. Cf. Riccardi, Pietro. Biblioteca mathematica italiana (1952)
  • Colophon: "Opus lucha a[n]tonio de uberti fe i uinetia"
  • Essling calls this a crude copy of an imprint of Luc'Antonio de Uberti, which he had estimated to be dated around 1520. He calls the Uberti publication a counterfeit for many reasons, among which is the omission of any references to the authors' names. (Cf. entry no. 1872 in Essling.) This copy of Uberti's publication is a false imprint, since it was probably not made by Uberti, nor is it even certain that it was printed in Venice; the edition statement has also been copied verbatim from Uberti's original
