Gamucci's guide is notable for the new information he added to that supplied by Fulvio's Antiquitates Urbis, his inclusion of the first notable series of views illustrating a guidebook, and for the originality of his discussion of the Villa Giulia, which suggests a firsthand acquaintance with Bartolommeo Ammanati.
