Preliminary section describes components of the calendar, including Golden Numbers, Dominical Letters, phases of the moon, epact, and moveable feast days, and provides revised calendars for determining when Easter falls using the epact, and calendars of moveable feasts. Also included is a six-page double-column monthly calendar of saints days. The Martirologio itself is arranged chronologically by day of the year, and provides descriptions of the saints celebrated on each day
