  • The collection comprises art objects, antiques, prints, books, manuscripts, etc., gathered since 1840 by the brothers Eugène and Auguste Dutuit; bequeathed by the latter to the city of Paris in 1902. The collection is lodged in the Palais des beaux-arts. Catalogues of parts of the collection were issued at intervals; the most important being the Manuel de l'amateur d'estampes, by Eugène Dutuit, which was interrupted by his death in 1886 after four volumes had appeared (1881-85)
  • The present catalogue, compiled by Édouard Rahir, contains 789 titles, transcribed line for line, with full collations and bibliographical notes e.g. collation and description of De Bry's Collection of voyages, 64 parts (p. 225-255)
  • "Table spéciale des manuscrits, des livres imprimés sur vélin et des provenances célèbres": p. [vii]-viii
