Note
  • Title, and contents note, transcribed from Camerini
  • Printer identified in colophon, which reads: "Venetiis in officina Luc[a]eantonii Iunt[a]e anno MDXLV mense Decembri" [1545]
  • The second ed. of the Opusculum, a collection of five chronological tracts, supposedly written by a Frenchman, Joannes Lucidus, although there is no proof that he ever existed. In fact, the tracts were probably written by the Dominican friar, Giovanni Maria Tolosani, who signed the dedication. The second ed. included two additional pieces, openly attributed to Tolosani, Cf. E. Rosen, "Was Copernicus' Revolutions approved by the Pope?", Journal of the history of ideas 36, no. 3 (Jul.-Sept. 1975): 531-542
  • Tolosani's dedication to Niccolò Schomberg, Cardinal Capuano, dated Oct. 15, 1535 in Florence, on leaves [6]v-[7]v
  • Printed in roman type, with section headings in italics
  • Woodcuts: printer's device on t.p. and below colophon (the Giunta fleur-de-lis, with initials "L.A.", flanked by two putti within a wreath of fruit and leaves); circular diagram of the winds on verso of leaf 155; white-on-white foliated initials
  • Signatures: [maltese cross]8 A-2B8 2C10
  • Includes index
  • Not in Renouard
