He includes chapters on topics such as childbirth, breastfeeding, physical beauty, jaws and beards, body temperature, left- and right-handedness, as well as sections on the physical nature of various parts of the body, such as the heart, hands, knees, fingers, eyes, ears, blood, saliva, tears, drawing on the writings of the 500 authorities listed in his author index. Carbone's "Index rerum memorabilium" , which includes 900 some subject entries, testifies to his wide-ranging knowledge
