Summary expansion
Bellarmino was well-known not only for his fame as a theologian and his canonization in 1930, but also for his role in prohibiting Galileo from holding, teaching, or defending Copernican theory in 1616. The grammar was expanded and reprinted numerous times over the next several decades (1580, 1585, 1606, 1615, 1616, etc.), and even as recently as 2003 (Vienna: Anton F.W. Sommer)
