Summary
Following the format of the first Aldine ed. of the Index printed by Paolo Manuzio in 1564--in Rome at the Stamperia del Popolo Romano (in quarto), and in Venice (in octavo), this ed. includes the ten rules that regulated Vatican censorship for the next two centuries, which are followed by an alphabetical list of authors, including those whose complete works are forbidden, single works, and anonymous works. Probably the first appearance of the Index in a small 12mo pocket format
