Summary expansion
The first section, in Latin, contains laws and regulations concerning procedures in civil and criminal cases, such as proper form of citations, examination of witnesses, publication of the trial, handling false accusations, appeals, and payment of court expenses. There are also regulations governing responsibilities of notaries, prohibiting magistrates from hearing cases involving their fathers or other blood relatives, and unlawful detention of persons. The laws are dated Nov. 1, 1446 (page [46]). The second section, written in Italian, begins on recto of leaf 2A1 with title "Qui de sotto sono descritti li riti & osserua[n]tie de la gra[n] corte de lo mastro iustitiero & vicaria." Many of the laws in this section concern debtors and creditors, defaulting on debts, and statute of limitations. At the end is a list of other offenses subject to prosecution such as removing a person's hat, cloak, or hood; destroying a vineyard; setting another's house or barn on fire, destroying another's animals, committing adultery, sodomy, battery, or murder
