  • Includes Brucioli's preface, addressed to Giovanni Maria Giunta, in which Brucioli recalls that his celebrated translation of the Bible--the "Biblia Bruciali" of 1532--was originally commissioned by the Giunta firm. Brucioli goes on to say that despite the numerous attacks against it, it will prove to be an enormous comfort to all Italians who can read Holy Scriptures in a correct translation in their own tongue. Bongi reprints the passages from the preface relating to the translation of the Bible; cf. S. Bongi, Annali di Gabriel Giolito de' Ferrari, v. 1, p. 60
