  • "Le riposte cavalleresche": leaf [105]-end, has special title page, but continuous pagination and signatures
  • Signatures: *8 A-2E8
  • Woodcuts: first two words of each title within ornamental cartouche at head of title page; a Giolito phoenix device on both title pages, featuring two seated satyrs holding the flaming brazier, initialed "GGF", and with ribbons bearing mottoes "Semper eadem" and "Dela mia morte eterna vita i vivo;" another device last leaf, featuring a large phoenix atop a flaming winged orb, facing left into the blazing sun; historiated white initials; head- and tail-pieces
  • Text printed in italic type; marginal notes in small roman type
  • Dedicatory preface is addressed to Emmanuel Philibert, duke of Savoy

Various old ownership inscriptions ("Francesco Moresi," Giovanni Battista Sati") and pen trials on endleaves and title-page. Illustrated bookplate (dated 1920) on front pastedown of General Taufflieb, French Army commander during World War I. Purchase, Kenneth Karmiole, 1998.
