Note
  • The copperplates are by Natal Bonifacio, who is named as the engraver on the title-page of the 1587 edition printed by Francesco Zannetti and Giacomo Ruffinelli in Rome; according to the Harvard College Library catalog, "With the exception of the title, the portrait, and one full-page plan, the copperplates were used again in an octavo edition of 1595 by Domenico Basa."
  • Signatures: A-Z8
  • Engravings: text is lavishly illustrated with 48 engravings: 9 maps, 37 cityscapes and locales of the Holy Land, 4 plans, two of which are engraved on folded leaves: one of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the other of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem
  • Woodcuts: Basa's printer's device on title page, featuring a ring set with a large pointed diamond, and ribbon with motto "Firma fides;" coat of arms on page 304 of Monsignor Domenico Danesi of Montepulciano, Apostolic Protonotary
  • Text printed in roman type; printed marginal references in smaller roman
