Spec Coll. copy: bound in 18th-century South German brown turkey over boards; large gilt coat of arms of the Bünau family on upper cover; gilt ex-libris on lower board of Graf Heinrich von Bünau, whose library became part of the Königliche Öffentliche Bibliothek zu Dresden in 1764, featuring two lions or panthers supporting a ducal crown, with caption "Ex bibliotheca Bunaviana;" gilt spine panels; gold-stamped spine title "Aesopi Fabella &." and faded gold-stamped imprint at base of spine; edges sprinkled brown; antique Dutch marbled endpapers. Small octagonal bookplate on front pastedown of Swedish bibliophile Thore Virgin; his inscription appears on front endleaf as well, dated 7 Jan. 1920; small library "duplicate" stamp on title page ("Doublette") of the Königliche Öffentliche Bibliothek zu Dresden [?]; embossed ownership stamp in lower right corner of Mark Pattison of Lincoln College, Oxford. In modern brown cloth phase box in brown leather and blue marbled paper slipcase; gold-stamped spine title "Aesopi. Fabelia. 1505." Purchase, Sotheby Parke Bernet, Feb. 4, 1980, lot 31.
