Gray in different sizes, with map and text in different arrangements. The map (measuring 11.1 x 34 cm) and descriptive text (10.6 x 34 cm) are affixed to the inner sides of brown kraft paper boards folded with a cloth hinge. When the boards are open, the upper panel contains the descriptive text printed on yellow paper, which includes a timeline of historical events, list of construction projects "to be realized within two years;" construction date, mileage chart, and a profile printed in green of the Panama Canal from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans. The lower panel contains the color raised relief map of the Canal, with a small inset map in lower right corner showing the Canal in the larger geographic context. The map shows cities, proposed fortifications, locks, dams, and canal and water route from Balboa through the Panama Canal and through the Gatun Locks to Limon Bay
