Summary expansion
He believes that the tools of arithmetic and geometry can explain the basic structure and forces of the physical world. Beginning with basic definitions, he proceeds through an arithmetic account of the heavens and of terrestrial geography (with numerous calculations), and numerous issues of astronomy and cosmology to final thoughts on the nature of time. Although Bordini was not a Copernican, his mathematical method and the way in which he pursues it were ahead of their day; in his postscript, he invites the reader to use the intellect given by God to understand the mavelous order of motion of all forces in the universe. Questions 468-470 concern America--Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, and 709-712 relate to Florida, Cuba, and Hispaniola. There are also questions on all the countries of Europe, including Slavic lands, and on the Middle East, India, China, and Africa
