Bookplate of Templeton Crocker on verso of upper board. In red morocco slipcase by Riviere and Son.

Armorial bookplate on front pastedown of the library of Holland House, residence in Kensington of the Lords Holland, with manuscript shelf-mark [?] in blue pencil; large illustrated woodcut bookplate of Isaac Foot on verso of front endleaf. In protective manila phase box.

Coll. copy 3: Modern Danish brown calf over paste boards; gold-tooled with a border of two interlocking double fillet frames enclosing floral corner pieces; an inner gilt mandorla encloses gilt title "Florilegivm diversorvm epigrammatvm;" binder's name, Anker Kyster, stamped in gilt on the lower pastedown. Two armorial medallion miniatures were painted for former owner Jean Grolier at the foot of the first text page, one with Grolier's coat of arms and his motto, the other with Grolier's emblem. Six illuminated initials in gold on a red ground with silver decoration, the first initial with leafy extensions. From the library of Jean Grolier. Sold at the auction of the library of Ambroise Firmin-Didot in Paris in June 1878, and later at the Roger Portalis sale (1887 or 1911?); see UCLA Aldine Press catalog for provenance history. Purchased with funds donated by Lloyd E. Cotsen and the Cotsen Family Foundation in memory of Dr. Franklin D. Murphy. In modern red leather and brown cloth clamshell box; gilt spine title.
