The panorama, which extends to four feet, is folded accordion-style, with text on one side, and panoramic illustration of the train on the other. The 16 numbered die-cut shaped figures in the pocket at rear can be inserted in correspondingly numbered slots on each panel to create a variety of scenes. Figures include a locomotive, mail car, mail wagon, newspaper boy, conductor, porter, and passengers with luggage, such as children with pets, families, a couple, and a sailor

Spec. Coll. copy: the 16 die-cut figures have been removed from the pocket, and are now held in custom-made mylar mounts on three sheets of white cardboard. The panorama and three sheets of figures housed in a modern dark green cloth clamshell case (29 x 32 cm) stamped in gold, along with a modern version of the panorama, published by B. Shackman & Co., Inc., N.Y., N.Y., c1995 (cataloged separately). Small printed ownership/collection labels on both sides of upper cover of case: "Michael G. Max Collection" with shelf-mark number added in pen; and "Michael G. Max, 6 Wildwood Road, London." Purchase, David Miles Books, 2015.
