Pictorial and historical survey of Roman emperors from Romulus to Charles V, as well as consuls, magistrates, and other dignitaries, dedicated to Maximilian, King of Bohemia by Jacobus Strada, architect, inventor, numismatist, and imperial antiquarian, and administrator of the art collections of three Habsburg emperors--Ferdinand I, Maximilian II and Rudolph II. Strada published the history at his own expense, and many of the medals depicted therein were undoubtedly from his personal collection
