Aldus 1522;" old pale green edges; pink and green marbled endpapers. Two ownership inscriptions on title-page: one unidentified, the other of Nicolaus Heinsius, son of Daniel Heinsius ("Nicolai Heinsij D.F."), most annotations in his hand; Narcissus Luttrell's stamped monogram on title-page verso, with date of 1707 added in manuscript. Housed in mustard yellow cloth phase box and tan marbled paper and leather slipcase; spine title "Plautus. Comoediis. Aldus 1522." Purchase, Blackwell's.
  • Spec. Coll. Belt copy: bound in English 19th-century dark brown pebble-grain leather boards by H. Stamper, whose stamp appears on front pastedown; paneled in gilt with floral corner-pieces in outer panel, and small rosette corner-pieces in inner panel; gilt centerpiece featuring a single fleur-de-lis and owner's name "Ralph Sneyd" arranged in circular border; all edges gilt. Verso of front endleaf contains lines of verse in various early hands. Gift to Dr. Elmer Belt "as friendly homage" by Dr. Emilio Valtón, Los Angeles, April 20, 1960. Forms part of the Elmer Belt Library of Vinciana, gift of Dr. Elmer Belt, 1961.
