Spec. Coll. copy: Contemporary English tan sheep; blind-stamped medallion on both covers; remnants of two pairs of leather ties along fore-edges. Numerous pen trials and other miscellaneous notes on endpapers. Ownership inscription on rear endpaper, "Nicholaus Strete est verus huius libri possessor," of Nicholas Street of Somerset, who matriculated at Broadgates Hall, Oxford, in 1621 at the age of eighteen, and later served as minister at New Haven Colony in Connecticut from 1659 until his death in 1674; his name, "Nicholavs Stretevs" in ink capitals is inscribed on upper edges and fore-edges. Verson of last leaf contains faded, partially legible purple ownership stamp of Sir Walter John Trevelyan, baronet, High Sheriff of Cornwall. Purchase, Christopher Edwards, 1992.
