Summary expansion
The novel tells the story of the love affair between Gaspar Schlick (Euryalus), intimate friend and chancellor of Emperor Frederick III, and a lady of Siena (Lucretia), which took place when the emperor was staying in that town in 1432. The translation is by Alessandro Braccesi, and according to Gamba, is so different from the Latin original as to almost constitute a new work (see Gamba, B. Serie dei testi di lingua, no. 1133)
