Spec. Coll. copy: contemporary French blind tooled calf; rebacked; wide outer foliated rolled border enclosing eight vertical rolled floral strips; sewing holes indicate former presence of eight ties. Engraved Hopetoun armorial bookplates on front pastedown, probably Charles, the first Earl of Hopetoun, with mottoes "Tria juncta in uno" and "At spes non fracta;" and the library of the Chapter of Reims on title page; below the Chapter bookplate is the oblong engraved slip recording the donation in 1651 of this volume by French historian Pierre Frizon to the Chapter library in his native Reims; the Chapter manuscript shelf mark on front paste above the Hopetoun plate. Purchase, Bruce McKittrick, 1992.
