First ed. of a compilation of excerpts from the works of Greek historians and geographers, including Ctesias of Cnidos on Persia, India (the first separate work on that part of the world), and geography; Agatharchides, on Ethiopians, Arabians, elephant hunts, the Nile, goldmining in Egypt, the Red Sea; and Memnon, chronicler of the history of the city of Rome.
