Spec. Coll. copy: is copy number 10 of a limited edition of 50 copies, numbered and signed by the author. The UCLA copy includes laid-in typed letter, dated Feb. 19, 1963, addressed to Dr. Maximilian Edel of Beverly Hills, California, from Joan Crane, of John Howell Fine and Rare Books of San Francisco, containing bibliographic and auction sale background notes on this edition. Crane quotes description of the book as it appeared in the Dec. 15, 1953 catalog of Parke-Bernet Galleries. In accompanying postmarked airmail envelope, addressed to Dr. Edel, who was the personal physician to Igor Stravinsky for many years. Bound in original green cloth over boards, with gold-stamped tan leather spine label. Gift of Joan Palevsky, 1999.
